AS400 WRKACTJOB/CPUTOP vs CPU data
Hello together,
i got a question regarding the values for CPU / WRKACTJOB and CPUTOP.
If i compare the values for "WRKACTJOB" and "CPUTOP" the trend looks very similar:
But if i look at the "CPU" page the whole trend looks like it is using way more cpu%.
eg. the time between 11 - 15:
according to "CPU" page the system was using almost 2 CPU cores.
When I look at the CPUTOP page it tops out at 1 CPU.
Does anyone know where this difference comes from?
What is "CPU" capturing that "WRKACTJOB" isnt?
What is "CPU" capturing that "WRKACTJOB" isnt?
Thank you very much in advance.

Hi,read this: https://www.lpar2rrd.com/wrkactjob.htmwrkactjob and cputop are based only on top10 processys for every minute, real used CPU will be always higher depends on usage of the LPAR.basically wrkactjob and cputop is monitoring solution mainly for jobs running long time and using a lot of CPU.

Hello Pavel, thank you for your answer, knowing this it makes sense that the CPU metic is higher.
