Brocade 8510-8 no performance data collection

Hello

Since upgraded FOS firmware to v8.2.1b, not able to collect performance data via SNMP.  SNMP checks were ok.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank You,   Larry

Do we have any solution out here. Have the same issue.
Brocade DCX8510-4 OS v7.4.1, Data is not getting populated

  • Hi,

it is not about fix, it is more about switch setup, allow SNMP etc.

have you followed docu: https://www.stor2rrd.com/install.htm?1 --> SAN
What does not work exactly? No data in graphs?

    Is this working?
    snmpwalk -v 2c -c public  <Switch_IP> 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.5

    ./bin/config_check.sh <switch IP>

Do you use the latest product version 2.61?

    Thanks Pavel for quick response.

Yes, followed the document and add the device.

What is not working is Data, Frame and Health Status is not getting populated

I use snmpv3 and get the config while snmpwalk

    Yes I use 2.61

FYI, Brocade 6510 that i configured same way work with out any issue with same OS version
    /usr/bin/snmpwalk -v 3 -u snmpuser2 -l noAuthNoPriv -a MD5 -x DES 10.59.227.208 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.5
    SNMP version : 3
    Port : 161 (default)
    Timeout : 5 seconds
    SecName : snmpuser2
    SecLevel : noAuthNoPriv
    AuthProto : MD5
    PrivProto : DES
    Switch name : Brocade_fabric1_Chassis_48AW
    STATE : CONNECTED

  • Hi,

compare this output on both swicthes, any difference?

    snmpconfig --show accessControl
    snmpconfig --show mibCapability

  • Done the caparison on above command, there is only one difference from working vs non_working "swExtTrap: Yes" in working switch.

Both output also attached for reference.......
  • Interessting. Our Stor2rrd via BNA did not get the "cpu/memory2 datas anymore. The rest looks like ok.
  • Hi Hexxer,

do you see CPU/MEM in the BNA UI?
  • Hmmm. Not in the BNA. But we did not change the system or Software i guess. 14.4.3 we using
  • Hi,

there are no any errors related to this issue in the logs you sent.
It seems the BNA does not provide these statistics.

Can you try these commands (cURL is required for that)?

    1. Logging in
    - set <BNA user>, <user password>, <BNA IP>, <BNA PORT>
    curl -ks -X POST -H "WSUsername:<BNA user>" -H "WSPassword:<user password>" -H "Accept:application/vnd.brocade.networkadvisor+json;version=v1" -i https://<BNA IP>:<BNA PORT>/rest/login

    2. realtime CPU statistic for 1 FC switch
    - set <WStoken>, <switchWWN>, <BNA IP>, <BNA PORT>
    curl -ks -X GET -H "WStoken:<WStoken>" -H "Accept:application/vnd.brocade.networkadvisor+json;version=v1" https://<BNA IP>:<BNA PORT>/rest/resourcegroups/All/fcswitches/<switchWWN>/cpuutilpercentage
    3. realtime MEM statistic for 1 FC switch
    - set <WStoken>, <switchWWN>, <BNA IP>, <BNA PORT>
    curl -ks -X GET -H "WStoken:<WStoken>" -H "Accept:application/vnd.brocade.networkadvisor+json;version=v1" https://<BNA IP>:<BNA PORT>/rest/resourcegroups/All/fcswitches/<switchWWN>/memoryutilpercentage

    4. Logging out
    - set <WStoken>, <BNA IP>, <BNA PORT>
    curl -ks -X POST -H "WStoken:<WStoken>" -H "Accept:application/vnd.brocade.networkadvisor+json;version=v1" -i https://<BNA IP>:<BNA PORT>/rest/logout

  • Will try it. But i dont understand that behavior. We are using 14.4.3 lomger than that and the cpu stats are shown. Hmmmm. It is not so important, because all the other things are good
  • Hi,

we do not know why, but sometimes the BNA stops providing statistics. We have seen it a few times before. But this case is a little different, in most cases BNA does not provide statistics for ports.

You can try to restart BNA, it can help.
  • I try it (not sure what WStoken should be) and get no output after that.
  • Hi,

WStoken will be generated by the first cURL command.
  • Im confused. In the GUI under "SAN Switches" i can setup a BNA (now i have 2 entrys, one is disabled)
But this is not the BNA who is configured in san-list.cfg
  • Did any managed to get the Brocade 8510 configured with all data populated. I get only CPU/Memory nothing else
