hmc, agent and nmon data all together ?
As long as I only collect data from agents and nmon files I can switch between these two. As soon as I enable lpar2rrd to collect data from an hmc I'm not able anymore to see the data from agents and nmon's.
I can still see that the agents add data to the database but I'm missing the buttons on the upper right corner to switch to agent or nmon data. Is this works as designed ?
If so then how am I able to see the agent and nmon data ?
I have the same problem with AIX and IBMi servers.

I just saw now on the demo Webpage that the Buttons for Agent and nmon only appear for some Tabs but I only have only one tab: CPU
Tabs for any other data are missing.

Hi,
what is your product version?
Do not you see OS agent data under "Unmanaged" menu item?
I think I know where the problem is, just clarify above.

The Server is 5.05
AIX Agent is lpar2rrd-agent-5.05-3
I noticed that when activating HMC access the structure of lpar2rrd/data is changed.
Without HMC it looked like this:
lrwxrwxrwx 1 lpar2rrd users 54 Nov 17 14:22 8286-42A*216194V -> /home/lpar2rrd/lpar2rrd/data/8286-42A*216194V--unknown
drwxr-xr-x 3 lpar2rrd users 20 Nov 17 14:22 8286-42A*216194V--unknown
Now with HMC acces it looks like this:
lrwxrwxrwx 1 lpar2rrd users 54 Nov 20 09:49 8286-42A*216194V -> /home/lpar2rrd/lpar2rrd/data/Server-8286-42A-SN216194V
drwxr-xr-x 4 lpar2rrd users 33 Nov 20 09:49 Server-8286-42A-SN216194V
(I copied only for one managed System)
In /home/lpar2rrd/lpar2rrd/logs/error-cgi.log I see such errors:
[Fri Nov 17 09:57:35 2017] detail-graph-cgi.pl: ERROR: opening '/home/lpar2rrd/l
par2rrd/data/8286-42A*216194V--unknown/no_hmc/S101AIX/cpu.mmm': No such file or
directory at /home/lpar2rrd/lpar2rrd/bin/detail-graph-cgi.pl line 8208.I don't have "Unmanaged" anymore (without HMC I had)
I created a link ln -s Server-8286-42A-SN216194V 8286-42A*216194V--unknown but I don't know how to force an update.

Hi
Today I have all the graphics as expected, also for the managed Systems where I didn't create a link. So my problem is solved. Is there something running once per day or so that fixed it ?
-
well, there is some nighly job which checks consistency are repair necessary things.
Do you have all data include historical one?
-
I think I have everything since I started playing around with it. I mean for each LPAR under SERVER - <managed System> I have now all the tabs from HMC, OS Agent and nmon, I don't have an area unmanaged in the menu.
How is this nightly job started or is there a log ?
btw its a great tool

do you have any lpars/servers not managed by HMC?
-
We have several managed systems, all managed by the same HMC.
I'm not missing something under "Unmanaged". I only mentioned this because you did in your first answer.
