Xormon NG not showing ESX hosts

Hi there,

I'm not able to see any ESX hosts in a Xormon NG 1.7.5 instance. I can see all of the VMs for each cluster in the tree, but there's no ESX.

I can see the ESX hosts in the Heatmap under Servers and Server Table, but if I click a host I get 2 errors;

  • Cannot find item in merged tree
  • Navigation failed, no item...

This is for an ESX8 cluster. I can see everything (VMs and ESX hosts) in an older Xormon/Lpar2rrd instance (7.95)

Thanks in advance!

  • Still not showing any ESX hosts in the tree, and viewing from the heatmap leads to errors. I've uploaded logs and referenced this thread/

    Thanks!

  • i have the same issue, also running Xormon NG 1.7.5

  • Same happens on 1.8 appliance for ESXi hosts that are not member of a cluster.

Any ideas how to make it work for 'stand alone' hosts?

    Thank you

  • This is the error I get:

@Pavel Do you have a solution for this one? We're not able to work with hosts outside clusters. Thank you.

  • no, this is not implemented. I do not see a point why to use standalone ESXi not being clustered.

we will do it once we have time, actually it is not our priority, I just put it on our TODO list

  • We have locations with a single host and we need the same functionality. Thank you

  • Hi Alexo,

    please try this version: https://download.xormon.com/ng/xormon-ng-1.8.4.tar.gz

    Upgrade docs: https://xormon.com/xormon-upgrade.php

Let it run for an hour and check if you can see the ESXi in the menu.

  • is there release notes for 1.8.4?

  • Hello,

ESXi hosts are now shown correctly, since I had data already they became available as soon as I upgraded.

    Thank you!

I'll keep testing and let you know in case of issues.

  • 1.8.4 contains just some minor bug fixes like this one
