Manual devices Import
Is it possible to manually import the devices file(devex_XXXXXX.json) from lpar2rrd in our new xormon-ng by manually copy the file to the new machine ?
It is easier for us to copy the file than having the firewall setup to accept communication between the new an the old Lpar2rrd/xormon infra.

yep, device configuration can be transfected https://xormon.com/devices_export.php

the suggested procedure requires that the new xormon-ng server has access to the old lpar2rrd server on port 443. Which is actually NOT the case for us.
I ran the script ./devices_to_ng.sh on the old lpar2rrd server to obtain the config file (devex_XXXXXX.json). Then I manually transferred the file to the new xormon-ng machine.
From the new machine, is there an existing script to import the config in xormon-ng from the content of this file ?
thanks in advance

sure, just follow the docu https://xormon.com/devices_export.php --> point 2.
Where is a problem? Pls explain
-
I used the ./devices_to_ng.sh to export config to a file from old lpar2rrd server
In point 2: to IMPORT the config. From the new xormon-ng UI, when I clic on "import devices" button, and select LPAR2RRD import, then it is mandatory to enter the URL(https port 443) of the OLD lpar2rrd, username, pwd, config filename.
I Get an "invalid URL" error message! I guess the import process is trying to reach the old lpar2rrd server to get the file,
and it is not reachable from the new server as explained in my previous comment.
This is why I am asking for an alternative way to import the file.
Please let me know if my understanding of the process is wrong.
thank you

unfortunately implementation relies on lpar2rrd server availability.
There is no other alternative like provide a single file. We will think about it for the future.

thank you for the reply!
