Is it because it's vCenter 8 ? I didn't find any version related information in the doc ...

it is not about vCenter version.
looks like a network problem, connection to the vcenter is filtered on a firewall, contact your security department ... and open:
Xormon NG --> vcenter:443 TCP

So, just to be clear :
xormon ng and vcenter are in the same subnet, as for the lpar2rrd instance
this vcenter is already registered in lpar2rrd instance and working :
but with xormon NG, it is not working :

from xormon NG host:
telnet <vcenter name> 443

I've found the issue, it's DNS related :
I've tried with ip and it's working.
I've checked /etc/network/interfaces and DNS name-servers is ok, but when I do nslookup, the DNS ip is wrong ...
Edit : I've changed nameserver in resolv.conf and it is now working, sorry for the trouble.
