Synology SNMPv3 issue
I wanted to add a Synology NAS but it seems that there's a bug. I'm only allowed to use SNMPv3 to access the NAS so I added it with all the information needed. As a result I'm getting this:
The passphrase is 14 characters long.
Error: passphrase chosen is below the length requirements of the USM (min=8). Tue Oct 20 15:38:12 2020: SNMP session to SERVERNAME cannot be created. /home/lpar2rrd/stor2rrd/bin/san_verify.pl:252 : /usr/bin/snmpwalk -v 3 -u USERNAME -l authPriv -a SHA -x AES SERVERNAME .1.3.6.1.2.1.1.5.0If I try manually with the following line on the server directly it works:
/usr/bin/snmpwalk -v 3 -u USERNAME -l authPriv -a SHA -A PASSPHRASE -x AES -X PASSPHRASE SERVERNAME .1.3.6.1.2.1.1.5.0 SNMPv2-MIB::sysName.0 = STRING: SERVERNAMEIs there a reason why the software doesn't use the passphrase delivered in the device setup?
The passphrase is 14 characters long.

Hello,Do you have a context name defined in the storage configuration (in stor2rrd)?I think this is the same bug as here
it is also implemented for Synology NAS.thank you

No context name configured since there's also none on the Synology NAS.
It seems like as if stor2rrd doesn't use the configured passphrase. -
Hello,
The bug was in connection test of storage via GUI. However, the bug was not in the data collection. It is so? Try this fix:
https://download.stor2rrd.com/patch/7.00-3-7-g5dba/DeviceConnTest.pm.gz
Gunzip it and copy to /home/stor2rrd/stor2rrd/bin (755, stor2rrd owner)
-rwxr-xr-x 1 stor2rrd stor2rrd 212619 Oct 22 10:17 DeviceConnTest.pm
If your web browser gunzips it automatically then just rename it: mv DeviceConnTest.pm.gz DeviceConnTest.pm
Assure that file size is the same as on above example
After copy script to bin directory
refresh GUI. Try connection test again.
Let us know.
Thank you
