The SVCCONFIG CRON job, which runs overnight on a daily overnight, has failed.

Today on storage of the Lenovo company there was in v3700 a warning: "SVCCONFIG cron-the task which is executed for the night for the day for the night, failed."Experts from technical support of Lenovo answered that the storage is overloaded with ssh sessions with stor2rrd.

  • Hi,

    what is your product version?
stor2rrd v2.60 reduced number of required ssh sessions significatly.
  • The latest version is installed
  • The warning appeared on two of the three storage units. On the first two installed firmware version (build 140.13.1805101603000). On another installed (build 147.13.1905201712000) and warnings there yet.
  • Hi,

that version complies with Storwize ssh session limits, there should be 24 ssh sessions per an hour, not more.

Send us logs, we will check if all works as expected, 24 sessions should not be a problem at all. It could be further decreased to half if saamle rate is increased to 10 minutes.

Note a short problem description in the text field of the upload form.
Note a storage name as well.

cd /home/stor2rrd/stor2rrd # or where is your STOR2RRD working dir

    tar cvhf logs.tar logs tmp/*txt

    gzip -9 logs.tar

    Send us logs.tar.gz via

  • Well done. The file was sent.
