    snmpwalk -v 1 -c public 172.24.97.197 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.5

  • Hi , Ive still problems with an AIX system to monitor the switches. What can be the different between the Linux and the AIX system?

    Ronald
  • what is the problem exactly? Any error message?
Do you use on AIX this version : net-snmp-5.6.2.1-1 ?

Definitelly do not use net-snmp-5.7.2-1. It simply does not work, no clue why, on some sites it works fine but on others do not.

Use net-snmp-5.6.2.1-1 on AIX as is stated in the install docu. It works everywhere without problems.
  • Hi Pavel,

    That's the solution.

    Thanks,

    Ronald
  • Hi Pavel,

We are using net-snmp-5.7.2-24.el7_2.1.ppc64le on a CentOS installation on a Power8 machine. We are experiencing the same issues here, but there is no 5.6.x version available for ppc64le architecture. Is there any work ongoing to make everything work with 5.7.x ?
