Cannot add new hosts (LPAR2RRD 6.00)

Hi,

I have a problem with adding new hosts (specifically a VMware VCenter, but applies to all new hosts) to an lpar2rrd instance.

This is a Xorux virtual appliance which has been running for some time (only storage added to stor2rrd). I upgrade the stor2rrd (from 2.31-1) and lpar2rrd (from 4.95-4) to latest version, and then proceeded to try to add a VCenter to the lpar2rrd.
When going to the VMware configuration page I can't click the "New" button.
I did some minor debugging and managed to start the "hostDetailFormVmware" from console. When trying to save the config I get following error: "TypeError: hostcfg.platforms is undefined".

  • Hello,

    1) was there any vCenter defined in previous version of LPAR2RRD?
    2) can you rename this file: /home/lpar2rrd/lpar2rrd/etc/web_config/hosts.json and then try to define VMware host again

    Hi,

    1) No, there was no vcenter before. I decided to upgrade first before adding vcenter.
    2) I tried this, but no luck

The "new" button is not doing anything.
  • Hi, I managed to get it to work, apparently there was still vmware.cfg file in /home/lpar2rrd/lpar2rrd/etc/web_config/, containing an example from xorux. I renamed it, and now I am able to add new hosts as expected!
