Possible new feature "Shared Proc Pool + Dedicated Proc"

It would be helpfull to have a server CPU view for IBM Power Managed Systems (maybe called CPU total),that combines both lpars from shared proc pool(s) and lpars with dedicated processor allocation. This view should show
  1. the number of active physical cores of managed system
  2. the overall sum of entitled cpu capacity (shared + dedicated)
  3. the overall sum of actually used physical core capacity
The 3. value is from my point of view the summarized value presented in "LPARs aggregated". Value 1 and 3 are also availabe in lpar2rrd environment, sso this should be an analyse and presentation job only (I hope).
Could that be a function with interes for many users? I think and hope so!
Thank you for support, have a nice day!

  • Hi Peter,

exactly such feature is just beining finished! :)

Let mw know if you want to test it, it will be ready next week.
  • well, just for REST API connected HMC so far it will be ready next week
  • Hi Pavel,
that sounds great ... and: sure, I would like to test it.
At the moment, our environment is completely build upon SSH connection between lpar2rrd server and HMCs ... do you have an estimation about having this function for that environment? On the other hand, maybe we could do a reconfiguration, or build a separate testing scenario.

  • Hi Peter,

as soon as REST API server/frame total is implemented we start with HMC CLI (ssh) implementation.
It should be done in about 2 weeks, I will let you know
  • Hi Peter,

    here it is https://www.lpar2rrd.com/download/lpar2rrd-6.16-12.tar
implemented in HMC CLI (ssh) and REST API

there is a new tab: server --> CPU --> Total which shows server total utilisation (all CPU pools and CPU dedicated lpars)

    Let us know
