Preferred platform for Stor2rrd and Lpar2rrd
Hello,
I would like to prepare new installation of your both products: Stor2rrd and Lpar2rrd. Over the years I had it on Linux x86_64, and then on AIX.
We see some shortcomings on AIX platform (some functionalities are missing) - especially in Stor2rrd and SNMP.
Could you please give me recommendation which system should I choose? I know AIX is not preferred as I mentioned. What about RHEL8 on Power (LE edition)? Or should we better switch to classic RHEL8 on x86_64?
Thank you in advance,
Greg

Hi Greg, whatever Linux, preferably RHEL/CentOS, does not matter about platform (Power vrs x86) however I would prefer x86. As pe me such kind of application does not need to be run on expensive Power HW.The main reason for Linux are only Perl dependencies although AIX with working yum is much better than before.More over our Xormon product is supported only on Linux.

Hi Pavel,
Thank you. Now it is clear for me. So it will be x86.
By the way, I prefer AIX because I have full control over network/storage and other configuration in it. But full functionality is more important for me.
Regards, Greg
