Can LPAR2RRD pull historic data from VMware vCenter Servers?
in VMware
Hi,
My first post, so please be gentle.
I have only just found this great tool and I have a question about VMware historic performance data. Can LPAR2RRD pull historic data from VMware vCenter Servers or is it only able to gather stats from the point it was connected to vCenter?
I am currently downloading the appliance to try, but I thought I would ask the question anyways.
Thanks
Martin

Hi,
it collects real-time data from vcenter and saves it locally.
Then data is presented much much faster then on vCenter

Hi Pavel,
Many thanks for the quick reply.
I thought as much
My hope was that it could import the Level 1 through Level 4 historic data from a vCentre Database.
I was looking at using LPAR2RRD to audit vCentre installs and graphing the historic data.
The graphing is so much nicer than the vSphere performance graphs.
All the best

Hi,
no, we do not import historical data.

Oh well...
Thanks again,
