Only CPU graphs working after client upgrade from AIX 7.2 to AIX 7.3.
After migration the OS version on our AIX fleet from AIX 7.2 to AIX 7.3, we found ONLY lpar2rrd CPU performance graph are working as normal.
All other graphs for CPU OS, CPU Queue, Memory, Paging1/2, LAN and SAN are not working/collecting since the OS upgrade.
Checking on the forum here to see if anyone has encountered this after upgrading from AIX 7.2 to AIX 7.3.
Have updated to latest lpar2rrd agent rpm version on the AIX lpars as well (lpar2rrd-agent-8.00-0.ppc).

Nino.

Are you using even Dynatrace agent on your AIXes?
-
Hi Pavel,
Yes we are using Dynatrace agents on the AIX servers which were recently upgraded to AIX 7.3.
These servers happen to be the ones which are only displaying CPU lpar2rrd data only.
The other servers which have been upgraded to AIX 7.3 and do not have Dynatrace agent installed are displaying all the performance data from lpar2rrd as expected.
Is there a known issue/resolution with running Dynatrace agent and Lparr2rd on AIX 7.3 ?
rgds,
Nino.

Dynatrace agent screws AIX /bin/sh which is called for executing cron scripts.
/bin/ksh Dynatrace agents does not touch at least for now.
The workaround is a shell wrapper which runs it under /bin/ksh, no other way, Dynatrace refusing all blames.
You can see that their agent opening Dynatrace libraries every time when /bin/sh is started via truss for example.
Only the workaround possible:
* * * * * /opt/lpar2rrd-agent/lpar2rrd-AIX-wrapper.sh <XorMon-server> > /var/tmp/lpar2rrd-agent.out 2>&1
Note that /opt/lpar2rrd-agent/lpar2rrd-AIX-wrapper.sh is included in the the agent v8.20+ only.

Much appreciate the quick response on this Pavel.
The suggested workaround wrapper has worked successfully for us on the AIX 7.3 servers which have Dynatrace agents installed.
