No network when installing LPAR2 for the first time
Hi
I'm kind of new on this application, and when I installed using the appliance on vmware, is not responding from the static ip that I did setup using nmtui.
I checked if the MAC is different than my virtual network card but is the same, mask, gateway and all stuff are setup, but, if I ping from the LPAR2 VM to the gateway or dns, did not get any ping back

Hi,
can you ping from the appliance to its default gateway from the console?
It should be about your TCPIP setup, something must be wrong there. -
No, I can not ping from the appliance to its default gateway from the console. And yes, I believe there is something wrong about TCP but could not find it.
The VLAN allows communication between all ip's and no firewall restriction.
I was checking the installation document, but I think that if I'm using the Appliance I shouldn't have to do all the steps described here for VMWARE.

Please, feel free to hit me if I'm wrong -
Is tehre only 1 interface?
netstat -rn
ifconfig -a
Run this just to see if any communication on the network, you should see IPs from the same subnet:
tcpdump -
Yes, there is only one interface.
Pls check the screenshot -
it looks good, this output yet:
arp -an
can you see anything in tcpdump? -
Aparently no
-
tcpdump
-
Problem solved. Wrong VLAN. Thanks Pavel
