follow this, where is the problem?
-
I do not have yum or dnf and thats why i need manual packages for all related to AIX 7.3
-
do not have yum on AIX
-
use dnf instead, install same packages
-
The YUM or DNF will work if I have a repo server . I do not have one . so how would it install/update the packages ?
-
you do not need to have a repo server, only in case you have no access to the internet to get packages from ibm site
-
root@a$&*&^YU^> yum update all
There was a problem importing one of the Python modules
required to run yum. The error leading to this problem was:
No module named rpm
Please install a package which provides this module, or
verify that the module is installed correctly.
It's possible that the above module doesn't match the
current version of Python, which is:
2.7.10 (default, Jun 22 2016, 05:57:59) [C]
If you cannot solve this problem yourself, please go to
the yum faq at:
http://yum.baseurl.org/wiki/Faq
What to do for the below error then ?
-
install this as per our docu, use yum or dnf , no issue for us
yum install httpd rrdtool rrdtool-perl
If that does not work then contact IBM AIX support,
sorry, AIX is not our product, we are not able to support it
-
Yeah we do not have internet access to external vendor .
-
then create internal repo, I am not aware how to do it but there must be some way, check Internet, ask IBM support ... it is all about AIX and support tools, it has nothing with our product, got no idea how to help,
Put into google: aix linux toolbox repository local
then select 1st or 2nd or 3rd or 4th link, I believe all explain you ho to create local repository, is it anyhow complicated? I do not think so although I have never tried that, at least I see 4 way where to get a procedure, follow one of them might be all are same, I do not know ...
-
if you pay for AIX support use AIX support, the easiest way for you I expect, they will explain you what needs to be done to have locat repository, they have to as they are paid for that
