AIX/VIO - agent data non available

I've install a new instance of Xormon server

After install several AIX/VIO agent I cannot see the agent data in the UI

where can I look to see what the problem is?

    send us this via support@xorux.com from the agent side:


    su - lpar2rrd # or xormon user, depends what user it is running, might be even root(not recommended)
crontab -l

cd /var/tmp
date
ps -ef| grep lpar2rrd
ls -ltr lpar2rrd*

tail lpar2rrd*err
tail -1 lpar2rrd*txt     # 3 files will be there, use the one without "ps" and "fs" in its name

    I've found this message in the "mail" of xormon user


    The file access permissions do not allow the specified action.

    sh: /var/tmp/lpar2rrd-agent.out: 0403-005 Cannot create the specified file.

    There was an old version of the agent under lpar2rrd user (now xormon user is used)

    there is still running the agent under lpar2rrd user, keep it running just once, you can add more targets if you want (lpar2rrd server and xormon server if you want)



    * * * * * /usr/bin/perl /opt/lpar2rrd-agent/lpar2rrd-agent.pl <lpar2rrd server> <xormon server>


    If you want to consolidate under xormon, then this will release it

    rm /var/tmp/lpar2rrd-agent.out


    Problem is that this file is owned by lpar2rrd, and xormon cannot write to it.

    I'm removing the "lpar2rrd" owned file :-)
