I am experiencing an issue with stor2rrd after upgrading the operating system from AIX 7.1 to AIX 7.2. Since the OS upgrade, stor2rrd no longer generates RRD files.

Starting from the upgrade date, inside the directory /home/stor2rrd/stor2rrd/data/SAN01 I see a large number of files being generated with names like "_sanperf_20251210_1125.out.tmp" and "_sanconf_20251210_1125.out.tmp". These .out.tmp files remain in the directory and are generated again every time stor2rrd starts, but they are never processed into RRD files.

I checked the logs under /home/stor2rrd/stor2rrd/logs and I do not see any explicit errors. I also upgraded stor2rrd to version 8.06, but the problem remains unchanged.

Has anyone seen a similar behavior on AIX 7.2? I am wondering if this could be related to changes in system utilities, shell behavior, or command output parsing introduced with AIX 7.2 that prevent stor2rrd from processing the temporary output files.

Any suggestion or hint would be appreciated. Thanks.

How to add 350 of SW's at once

It is not possible to add them one by one

It might be the old problem, but:

1) I successfully moved sttor2rrd 2.61 to docker container: rm -fr inside stor2rrd persistent volume, restore tar ball from appliance)

2) upgraded it to 7.80-1

3) added to xormon

4) modified /home/sto2rrd/stor2rrd/etc/config

5) .stor2rrd_home includes: /home/stor2rrd/stor2rrd

6) mount /home/stor2rrd/.ssh as external volume with all files cloned from old installation

7) modified /home/str2rrd/stor2rrd/etc/stor2rrd.cfg entries mentining lpar2rrd to something like:

/home/stor2rrd/stor2rrd/etc/san-list.cfg

webserver still responds with internal 500 error

Workaround: I create a soft link in container in /home dir so it has:

lrwxrwxrwx  1 root   root       8 Apr 30 14:55 lpar2rrd -> stor2rrd

drwxr-sr-x  9 stor2rrd stor2rrd   4096 Apr 29 18:59 stor2rrd

web UI started working immediately after , no error

Problem is that every time after container is recreated the link is removed, and has to be created again

Question: obviously I am missing to fix some config files there - left overs from appliance image which still survived after migration, upgrade.

I got a new Macrosan storage just setuped as NAS, and I followed the guide to add this array to Stor2rrd.

I want to monitor ceph. Ceph is installed as rook-ceph - inside kubernetes.

I provided nodeport service which forwards traffic to mgr pod, prometheus is enabled.

I can connect port, and obtian metrics

We used the OVF to depoly the Xorux monitoring system for my storage.

The installation guide we referred is https://stor2rrd.com/Hitachi-VSPG-VSP-HUS-AMS-HNAS-monitoring.php and my storage is HDS VSP G130.

We tried to use REST API and Export Tools method to configure the system.

But when we ran the last commnad '/home/stor2rrd/stor2rrd/load.sh' we got the following error and but graph show on the Web GUI.

in our OpenShift environment we are not able to deploy an image as a root user. Is there any tweak how to make Stor2RRD image work as a nonroot user.

As you can see there it is running for about an hour and using 100% of one cpu. Stor2rrd version 7.30. Any ideas how to troubleshhot it or fix it?

After successfully adding Infortrend storage using the GUI, I'm faced with an error when trying to run the /home/stor2rrd/stor2rrd/load.sh script.

The /home/stor2rrd/stor2rrd/logs/error.log file contains the following:
