fyi ust in case some one sees this.. upgrading hmc from 8.7 to v9 fixed the time problem at https://<hmc>/rest/api/pcm/preferences lpar2rrd does not complain anymore
-
@jan_dvorak don't think I need to send logs at this time I found that rest API perl script pulls time from https://<hmc>/rest/API/pcm/preferences our hmc show one HR off utc-5 instead of utc-4 at that url no matter how many times we reboot or reset time setting. hmc cli has the correct local time. looks like a bug in hmc…

upgraded but it did not help to fix the certificate errors I had to modify hmc_rest_api.pl to include SSL_verify_mode => 0 in the line that initializes the $browser variable. Now the script complains that there is 1 hour time difference on the HMC, but both lpar2rrd and HMC time is the same, I have verified and rebooted…
-
@tmarinov did you ever find what was wrong? I'm having the same problem. time appears correct but lpar2rrd is not liking it. It thinks there is a 1 hour difference. reboot of the hmc did not help

the ppc64le build did work and successfully ran, per above there were errors about respawning sshd and cron during startup, but i was able to ssh to the image and also got "Welcome to LPAR2RRD appliance" http screen let me know if I can help with any other testing. As far as finding a machine to run. Since lpar2rrd…

update: I found this https://github.com/goricz/XoruX I will try to modify FROM image to ppc4le/debian and rebuild. I think it's not finding snmp-downloader but the rest of the dependencies seem to be ok
-
@Jirka I'd be happy to test the image if you add ppc64le and report back.
-
I think this errror is because the linux layer included in the xerus docker image has amd64 architecture so it cannot run on ppc64le. I was wondering if you can rebuild the image and include ppc64le as well? # docker image inspect <imageid> | grep Architecture "Architecture": "amd54" }, "Architecture": "amd64", "Os":…

when i tried to run xorux docker image on ppc64le i got an error about executable format and the docker container failed to start. i wonder if the underlying debian distribution in the image includes only i386 variants

hi. yes, still missing two frames (<server1> <server2>) from one of the hmcs using the direct link to cfg_summary.html
-
here is the info. sorry i removed some host names.. -rw-r--r-x. 1 lpar2rrd lpar2rrd 48890 Feb 28 00:22 www/cfg_summary.html -bash-4.2$ ls -l www/<hmc which does not work/total 356drwxr-xr-x. 2 lpar2rrd lpar2rrd 108 Feb 16 12:52 <server1>drwxr-xr-x. 2 lpar2rrd lpar2rrd 108 Feb 16 12:52 <server2>-rw-r--r--. 1 lpar2rrd…

Pavel I found another post where you suggest to remove certain cfg fails under the old hmc directories. if i try that, is there a way to force rebuild this page without waiting for the next cycle after midnight?
-
yes, exactly. The 'Servers' tab http://demo.lpar2rrd.com/?menu=7e49637&tab=0 is supposed to show a combined view from all HMCs. In your case it's empty. here it shows outdated info from only one of four hmcs. The individual tab for that hmc is correct.

if this helps here is how node_name strings are stored in the cache file: 'netapp1clus1-01:clus2' => { 'node_name' => '"netapp1clus1-01 "', 'vserver_name' => '"netapp1clus1-01 "', they have double quotes and a space as part of the string. many occurrences of the same bad string. this must be how it's returned from the…

thanks. I'm not sure why this happens but sometimes the hmc reports new numbers in conf_proc_units for several readings, even when we have not changed any profiles or configuration. The lines above returned to 101 and 27 after a few minutes. when this happens it throws off data in the rrd database. it's not a big deal, I…

thanks but no luck yet. we have checked and there does not appear to be a space at the end of the node name on the netapp. however some commands for example "system node show" do add a space in the output. I think the part of stor2rrd that initially reads into %netapp hash needs to trim the node name and remove any quotes…

thank you very much for adding this. I have upgraded to v5 and it's exactly what we were looking for.
-
Pavel. great, thanks for considering it.

Pavel I'm interested to see if the high water mark on the CPUs is trending higher, and how it compares to the average cpu projection Our "capacity planning" team wants to make sure CPU pools have 20% headroom over one minute peak usage (even if it's a single "busy" minute in 24 hrs). this will provide spare cycles for…

I had to change data types from gauge to COUNTER for some of formerly nmon (LAN, SAN, san iops), after renaming the --NMON-- directory. Also restart the daemon process. for i in $(ls san-fcs*.mmm) do rrdtool tune $i -d recv_bytes:COUNTER rrdtool tune $i -d trans_bytes:COUNTER rrdtool tune $i -d iops_in:COUNTER rrdtool tune…
