STOR2RRD HW Alerts coming fine but No Alerting Configuration Events Arriving

Hello. Our HW Alerts events are arriving fine. Like- STOR2RRD Health Status clean/ok for device STORAGE_IBM. Also, like STOR2RRD Health Status event for device POWERSCALE_ISILON

But the Performance related alerts which are setup under Alerting Configuration tab are not arriving.

Test mails work fine. Even got two emails from stor2rrd on hardware issues.

But not sure why other emails are not arriving on Performance perspectives.

The documentation has a test option and that also works fine:

# echo "This is a test mail from Postfix relay." | mail -s "Postfix Relay Test" Storage@bank.com

I got the email.

Support suggested that I setup a new alert with IOPS 0.001. And then we should get an alert on performance. But it is not at all arriving.

We can also see the Performance Events under LOGS, Alerting configuration/Performance events in gui.

Couple of PowerStore T series STOR2RRD bugs

Hi,

I've noticed that snapshots appear under VOLUME/Items list, however when snapshot on PowerStore side is deleted it still remains on stor2rrd side and break graphs: "Could not find volume ID for XXX:2024-09-13 02:11:00 PM UTC 03:00 in /app/stor2rrd/data/XXX/VOLUME/volumes.cfg neither any alias in etc/alias.cfg /app/stor2rrd/bin/detail-graph-cgi.pl:8581"

Second bug what I noticed is that if snapshot/thin clones has spaces(?) or special symbols(?) in its name it also breaks graphs:

Hi,

Collection of Capacity information for Isilon stopped working with below warning:

stor2rrd version is 7.95

Any idea what could be the reason?

Is it possible to change the monitoring level of HealthStatus?

I would like to monitor the HealthStatus of VMAX to detect abnormalities.

I understand that the default specification is to detect abnormalities when the severity level matches "Fatal".

Is it possible to change it so that it detects an abnormality even when the severity level matches "Critical"?

For the monitoring settings, I have set up a script in the 'menu'>'Configuration'>'alert'>'Options HW events'>'External script for alerting' section.

when checking the configuration, I see this warning

Put there this line as per documentation (under user: stor2rrd):

Ignore it if you have just done in past 5 - 10 minutes

No VMAX/PMAX in Capacity Pool after upgrade to Unisphere 9.2.0.1

After upgrading the Unisphere to 9.2.0.1, STOR2RRD is not showing Capacity Pool for VMAX and PMAX
They show up under Capacity

But not under Capacity Pool

We are using STOR2RRD v2.81

After UNITY storage array upgrade to version 5.0.3 I encountered following errors:

RRDp::create read error : /home/stor2rrd/stor2rrd/data/unity/NODE/ve D11.rrd : rrdtool read died in SIG ALRM: at /home/stor2rrd/stor2rrd/bin/Xorux_lib.pm line 65. : Is a directory
create_rrd err : unable to create /home/stor2rrd/stor2rrd/data/unity/NODE/ve D11.rrd (filesystem is full?) at /home/stor2rrd/stor2rrd/bin/LoadDataModule.pm: line 42191 : Is a directory

Filesystem certainly is not full.

And when I try to do ls on NODE folder I am getting following:

ls -l /home/stor2rrd/stor2rrd/data/unity/NODE/
ls: cannot access /home/stor2rrd/stor2rrd/data/unity/NODE/spb.rrd: Permission denied
ls: cannot access /home/stor2rrd/stor2rrd/data/unity/NODE/spa.rrd: Permission denied

I tried to delete and re-create particular folder, but eventually getting the same error.

I configured the VPLEX storage on virtual appliance v2.60, but when I test the connection in browser configuration page I got this error:

SSH authorization: NOK

Mgmt server time: Sun Jun  7 13:58:27 UTC 2020

th date on the appliance is:

But if I test the ssh connection on the appliance I can connect without problem:

EMC Unity Performance Data Collector Problem on STOR2RRD 2.70

I have update our STOR2RRD to 2.70 recently. After update, we faced with gap on EMC Unity data.
As I checked the below errors on /home/lpar2rrd/stor2rrd/logs/error.log-EMC-UNITY-XXX:

Global symbol "$port_wwn" requires explicit package name at /home/lpar2rrd/stor2rrd/bin/unityperf.pl line 2210.

Global symbol "$port_wwn" requires explicit package name at /home/lpar2rrd/stor2rrd/bin/unityperf.pl line 2211.

Execution of /home/lpar2rrd/stor2rrd/bin/unityperf.pl aborted due to compilation errors.

After checking the unityperf.pl, I have added the below line:

The previous codes are as follows:

I guess, there is need to release a patch or update for resolving the above issue.

I have configured Data Domain in stor2rrd tool but once I do the connection test it shows the following error:

SSH authorization: NOK
Under user: lpar2rrd

VNX5400 - email alert

I am using the free version 2.52 and I have multiple EMC VNX5xxx SAN... One of the VNX5400 keeps sending health status event every hour but there is no health issues.. Message: (STOR2RRD Health Status event for device VNX-XXX5400).

This is what the report for all arrays shows. Graph below is from the individual array. why no used data or total size in graph 1 and no used or free in graph 2?
