No display Vmware in Lpar2rrd

Vsphere 7.0.3.01700

In my case I configured Vmware and the test is OK, but I have nothing in Lpar2rrd screen.

My logs in logs/error-cgi.log :

I see some errors in logs/error.log-vmware :

Sun Apr 27 12:30:18 2025: file /home/lpar2rrd/lpar2rrd/tmp/menu_vmware.txt does not exist /home/lpar2rrd/lpar2rrd/bin/vmware_menu2db.pl:64 : No such file or directory

Also some errors in logs/load_vmware.log

New vcenter doesn't appear, but removed vcenters are still in the pane

Hi,

We've added a new Vcenter to the lpar2rrd, but it didn't appear in the Vmware section's left pane. At the same time, we see the vcenters that have already been removed from the inventory.

Neither ./load.sh nor ./load_vmware.sh helped.

VMware Perl SDK for XorMon NG

After these Broadcom changes where can I find working version from VMware Perl SDK? Broadcom site https://developer.broadcom.com/sdks/vsphere-automation-sdk-for-perl/latest/ goes to GitHub but those releases (https://github.com/vmware-archive/vsphere-automation-sdk-perl/releases) are no working when trying to Upload and install the SDK.

Intermittent errors in Cluster Total Graphs

in the VMware -> vCenter -> Cluster -> Totals view we frequently get errors like this instead of the graphs:

no lpar_space value for item : multihmclpar_vm in $print_line 0.73 XORUX #357EC7 XORUX /home/lpar2rrd/lpar2rrd/data///50179674-35ae-0c4a-7408-4f312d2a9ff0.rrm /home/lpar2rrd/lpar2rrd/bin/detail-graph-cgi.pl:8472

Especially for "CPU VMs" and "CPU Ready". When refreshing the page sometimes the same broken graphs then work.

I tried grepping for "no lpar_space" through the complete /home/lpar2rrd and /var/log folder but could not find any hint for the problem.

Env: Ubuntu 22.04 with lpar2rrd 7.80-1

Hello

We run lpar2rdd and stor2rrd on the same Linux server.

Yesterday we noticed the data in the graphs are current but the timeline in the graphs are 2 hours shifted. It looks like the rrd graphs are in UTC instead of local time (CEST).

In other words. The current data now at 10:00 are in the graphs at 08:00. We checked our TZ settings (CEST), restarted webserver and even the VM.

We have the same for all graphs in VMware-data,in Agent data and also in Baremetal Linux systems.

Actually we can't say how long but at least some month ago it was defenitly correct shown.

We are on version 7.81

Does anybody else have the same behaviour and/or a hint how to solve it?

Non-Cluster ESXi on vCenter

Hello

We have a Central vCenter with some clusters. There is everything ok.

Further do we have some ESXi which are not part of a cluster. They are shown in the Totals but no details about VMs running.

We are on lpar2rrd Version 7.81.

Under "Totals" - "Configuration" I can see the ESX servers. The are shown in a Cluster which does not exist anymore and those ESXi hosts were never part of this cluster. We do not see any "NONCLUSTER menu".

Is there a way to rescan the whole ESX-vCenter Environment?

We also see some directory structure are not current.

Somewhere else with issues like this?

Hi,

I used free version xorux on appliance with version 7.0 then, Recently I upgrade my vcenter 7.0 u3 to 8 and after it, my vmware dashboards gone from lpar2rrd panel!!

Also I revert backup on my xorux but it wasn't worked and never showed my vmware dashboards info again!

Could you please help me to resolve this issue. Thanks.

Hi, in my lpar2rrd I have few standalone (physical) Linux hosts and vcenter with few clusters and dozens vms. All of vms are Linux as well with agent installed and reporting to the server. Linux previously marked as a standalone were moved to VMware menu and all is in the same place after adding vcenter. Everything works as a charm but one day I cloned one vm. It is displayed in the standalone menu even though it is in the same VMware cluster as others. Simply data from agent is not merged into VMware info. I have some data in VMware and some data in standalone menu. How to fix that? Is it related to cloning of VM? Thx.

I have a problem with lpar2rrd. Communication with the Vcenter is OK, it reports infrastructure information well but the graphics are empty with no information.

Vcenter 7.0 / LPAR2RRD version 7.40 / VMware-vSphere-Perl-SDK-7.0.0-16453907.x86_64.tar

I noticed several types of errors:

In the logs from Gui, there are many permission denied on folders.

Upgraded a functional running 7.10 version (I think. It was the Xormon required level ) to 7.20. In the VMWare section I see the VCSA and the storage but there is nothing for the ESX systems. I had bookmarked graphs for the Dashbboard and they will appears (with that looks like current data) but clicking on the graph does not take me to the page (as it looks like it doesn't exist).

i am new to productive IT-system monitoring,

my Vcenter is getting monitored with lpar2rrd, so far i am very happy with the free version, thanks Pavel :-)

there are some smaller issues/bugs which i need to eliminate before going to enterprise version,

today I recognized my resource_pools are all the same for productive, test and dev,

any idea why lpar2rrd is not recognizing/copying the correct pools from Vcenter?

lpar2rrd: vmware & vsan

I installed lpar2rrd a few weeks ago and still cannot see any storage metrics like IOPs, Latency etc, but the usage.
Metrics für iscsi atttached storages are available and working fine.
We are using VMWare ESXI and VSAN (6.7 U3)
Does lpar2rrd support vsan ?

LPAR2RRD lost VMware data

4 VMware vCenters. No data since 12th of Feb
Connection tests to all 4 vCenters are OK
oVirt and Oracle VM still successfully gathering data.
Had less than 15% diskspace a few days ago. Disk was extended and appliance rebooted, but still no VMware data.

VMWare Permission Errors

We are running lpar2rrd Version 6.21 (Enterprise VMware).
Our vCenter is on 7.0 U1

During every load.sh we get the following message in the vCenter.
02/25/2021, 1:01:27 PM Privilege check failed for user REALM\lpar2rrd for missing permission Sessions.TerminateSession. Session user performing the check: REALM\lpar2rrd

All data is loaded successfully.
We noticed the messages after updating the vCenter but we don't know if they were there before.
The user in the vCenter is in ReadOnly group as required.

Did someone else see this messages before?

VMs, Datastore and LUN UID help report

Dears, there are any way to get a report with which VMs are running on each datastore including the LUN UID?
I saw that LPAR2RRD is able to show VMs by DS thru the GUI but I didn't find an option reporting it including LUN information.
Also I have tried by xormon.

We've faced with a problem in VMware monitoring.

LPAR2RRD > VMWare > _vCentre_name_ > _clustername_ > Totals > Tab:CPU VMs

In the CPU VMs section, when you select a datastore to view the Data and IOPS graph, if you zoom the graph, the Max value would be changed.

Lpar2rrd does not show one of the esxi

what about a Chart or Top Page where you can see the Top VM regarding the avg CPU load (Now we have the avg Ghz usage)

It would be great to see which VM consume the most CPU in %, so you can start resizing these. The Data is already collected,as you can see it, when insoecting a single vm.

is there a possibility to get this Top List?

6.20 - API authorization to XXX has failed (but data are collecting)

I deployed LPAR2RRD v6.20 to freshly installed OracleLinux 7.8. Followed installation steps kind of carefully (you know, the bigger font the more invisible for people). And ends up with error below.
However data are collected, graphs are graphing (?!), so it is "nice to have" priority.

I followed troubleshooting section at lpar2rrd installation page, here are some outputs:

In cluster totals CPU tab we have 3 metrics there - Total, Total effective and Utilization.

Q - what is difference between Total and Total effective, how Total effective is calculated. Why host level doesn't have Total effective?
