LPAR2RRD + AIX 7.3: Performance Gaps in CPU Graphs — Anyone Else?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been running LPAR2RRD on AIX 7.3 for about two weeks and noticed intermittent gaps in the CPU utilization graphs for some partitions.

So far I’ve checked:

OS_AGENT.log (no major errors)
Disk space and I/O bottlenecks
lpar2rrd-daemon is running fine

Data seems to stop updating around 3AM-4AM randomly, then picks up again. Has anyone faced similar behavior? Is it related to cronjob timing or temporary resource contention?

Any tuning tips or common gotchas on AIX 7.3 + LPAR2RRD combo would be much appreciated!

Oracle Database status

Hello team,

I have few Oracle databases. In Total menu two databases have status "red", but it seems that everything is fine:

But in Health status all of them are fine.

In settings I am able to test connection and data.

Could you please advice why status is "red" ?

As an example on the Rows tab, what is meant with Modified, Returned etc?

I get the following error when trying connect standalone oracle database:

DB data test: Invalid data make sure DB has permissions it needs .

ORACLE_BASE: /usr/lib/oracle

ORACLE_HOME: /usr/lib/oracle/19.6/client64/bin

Hey guys,

i'm trying to reach a MS SQL instance with the port 1436. But he tries to connect over 1433. I think it is a bug:

If you think: "How could you know that it tries to connect over 1433?" Answer: We have another instance on this machine which is running with the port 1433. The file ERRORLOG is full of the denied access logins.

I just created my LPAR2RRD / STOR2RRD in a Docker.
Now, i am trying to configure Oracle Databases withou success.

I added a Database Configuration and during "Connectio Test", it is being raised:

Command not found, is the instantclient version in variables below correct?

I believe there is an error regarding Oracle Instant Client on Docker image - Alpine Linux
During a simple test trying to call "sqlplus", i got the error:

ORACLE Data not being displayed to Graphs

Currently running the virtual appliance with:
LPAR2RRD 7.05-2
STOR2RRD 7.05-2
XORMON xormon_0.9.10-65

Error in error.log-oracledb

oracleDB-json2db.pl: Use of uninitialized value $cur_group in string at /home/lpar2rrd/lpar2rrd/bin/oracleDB-json2db.pl line 87

It will just hang on this line until i exit the script when manually running load-oracledb.sh.

Can you advise what I can do.

This was working until i upgraded from LPAR2RRD and STOR2RRD 7.03 and XORMON. I have also noticed that my SAN config has stopped working too but I will start a new thread about this.

Hello,

I just implemented the newest lpar2rrd feature to monitor Oracle Databases.

Very good implementation and valuable data!

I have slight misunderstanding or fault with the Menu Group + Sub Group feature.

I have several (4) DBs that are in a Sub group and the UI now shows the Sub Group entries four times, always with the four Databases.

Is this intended?

Cannot Add DB in GUI

Im am at version 6.21 and want to try the new OracleDB feature.
When I add a database via GUI it is not added.
No message in the lpar2rrd logs nor in messages.
Anyone else the same issue?
